Il gruppo alt-rock noto per i suoi incredibili live show negli ultimi tre decenni

Il trio rock operistico sci-fi Muse ha annunciato il proprio ritorno con l'album del 2026, The WOW! Signal.

Fondati nel 1994, i Muse sono composti da Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme e Dominic Howard. Pubblicando il loro album di debutto nel 1999, la band si è distinta dagli altri gruppi rock grazie alla voce in falsetto di Bellamy e alla loro visione alternativa del genere.

Il secondo album della band, Origin of Symmetry, ne è stata un'ulteriore conferma, fondendo il rock con elementi classici romantici che si prestavano alla performance dal vivo. Questa fusione di generi ha continuato a essere presente nel terzo album in studio della band, Absolution, che è diventato il primo di sei album consecutivi al numero uno nel Regno Unito.

Sperimentando influenze elettroniche e pop, i Muse hanno pubblicato Black Holes and Revelations nel 2006, che includeva il singolo di successo "Supermassive Black Hole", che ha aiutato la band a raggiungere un pubblico più ampio a livello internazionale.

Ispirati da artisti come Queen, Prince e Skrillex, le influenze dei Muse sono state ampie e si sentono chiaramente in molte pubblicazioni. Con la crescita del loro pubblico internazionale, la band ha iniziato a tournée più a livello globale e ha vinto premi per le loro performance sul palco.

È nel settembre 2009 che i Muse sono tornati con The Resistance. L'album includeva il singolo "Uprising", che è diventato la loro canzone con il posizionamento più alto nelle classifiche statunitensi fino a quel momento. Il loro album successivo, The 2nd Law, è seguito nel 2012, mentre la band continuava a girare in tournée.

Drones è stato pubblicato nel 2015 e, oltre a far guadagnare alla band numerosi premi, ha anche dato origine a un film omonimo che includeva riprese con droni del tour che accompagnava l'album.

Un altro LP, un tour internazionale e un cofanetto commemorativo sono arrivati nel periodo compreso tra allora e il 2022, quando la band ha annunciato che sarebbe tornata a esibirsi per il pubblico britannico per sostenere War Child, Médecins Sans Frontières e The Big Issue. Quell'anno, mentre la band si preparava per la pubblicazione del loro nono album in studio, Will Of The People, hanno annunciato un importante tour nel Regno Unito per l'estate del 2023. Il tour è stato salutato come uno "show rock feroce e compulsivo per le masse".

Dopo alcuni anni di silenzio della band, i Muse sono tornati nel zeitgeist rock nel 2026 – letteralmente, confermando le notizie del nuovo album The WOW! Signal e del primo singolo "Be With You" dallo spazio tramite un tablet lanciato appositamente. Il trio del Devonshire ha tenuto uno show intimo e unico all'O2 Brixton Academy di Londra per celebrare il loro ritorno sulla Terra.
