MORE ABOUT DECLAN WELSH AND THE DECADENT WEST

Declan Welsh and the Decadent West, from Glasgow, have established themselves as one of the UK's most essential alternative bands. Led by singer-songwriter Declan Welsh and bassist Ben Corlett, their music combines social and political commentary with personal introspection, addressing themes such as love, loneliness, and the role of protest art. Thanks to their musical innovation and incendiary live performances, they have already amassed over 16 million streams.

The new album, titled Explicit Agitation, is the band's most ambitious release to date: a direct and uncompromising portrait of the present, where social and political critique coexists with more intimate themes such as love, loneliness, and loss of faith.

The band has built its reputation on incendiary live performances and sharp storytelling that is as impactful as it is moving. Their debut album, Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold, was nominated for Scottish Album of the Year, while their second album cemented their status as one of the most essential acts on the British alternative scene.
