We staged a ransomware attack at a whiskey distillery. Nobody left early. 🥃 Our recent #EscapeRansomware night took over 10th Street Distillery in San Jose with our friends at SHI International Corp. IT and security leaders tasted the distillery's best, swapped war stories, and watched a live ransomware simulation end in a fast, clean recovery. Then everyone picked out a custom Shinola watch, on us. ⌚ Your city could be next. See what's on the Druva event calendar → https://ow.ly/ayhw50ZVAHI #Ransomware #CyberResilience

Is your backup sharing a blast radius with your production data? Most VMware-to-OpenStack moves happen in stages, so IT runs two platforms side by side for a long time. With the team stretched, protection for the new OpenStack cloud often defaults to native snapshots. Those snapshots sit inside the same platform and answer to the same admin credentials as production. An attacker with those credentials, or an AI agent with broad API permissions, can delete your instances and the snapshots you'd use to bring them back. Ask this of any OpenStack backup approach: if someone takes over your environment, what happens to your recovery copies? If the answer is "they're gone too," the migration is your chance to fix it, before scripts and habits harden. Check out our latest blog to learn how to architect a truly air-gapped defense for your entire infrastructure: https://ow.ly/IuSU50ZVA8K #OpenStack #VMware #CyberResilience #DataProtection #CloudArchitecture

"What Druva saves me is my blood pressure a little bit." When a single laser fusion experiment produces a large amount of data, backup isn't something you want to worry about. Stuart Gale is IT Director at Focused Energy, which is developing commercial-scale fusion power across Austin and Darmstadt. To keep cloud costs predictable, their researchers run models on their own laptops. So some of their most valuable science lives outside the cloud apps most backup tools cover. With Druva: → Microsoft 365 + Entra ID protected in about 1 hour → Backup that scaled through 150% company growth "I've got something that I don't really need to check every minute of the day. I know it's doing what it's supposed to do." Read their full story: https://ow.ly/Eq1350ZTk18 #FusionEnergy #ITLeadership #CyberResilience

Unpopular take, so let’s see how many of you disagree :) The cybersecurity industry is obsessed with tracking the raw "intelligence" of frontier models. I am not sure that’s the right metric. A leading LLM will lose to an elite red team member every single time. Models today lack entropy, novelty, street smarts, etc. (Same 10 dad jokes .. etc.) Frontier intelligence isn't the threat. The harness and the economics of scale are. I tried to replicate the harness behind the Hugging Face attack (Agent contract protocols, hierarchical planning, message boards, persistent memory, blackboard state, etc.) and combined that with basic tool interfaces (Nmap, Burp, debuggers, CVE database, etc). A well-orchestrated agent swarm can burn through 20M–30M tokens an hour. With modern token economics, intelligent caching, and multi-tier routing (cheap scouts triaging tool output, reasoning models reserved for payloads), running an autonomous offensive swarm costs less than $1,000 an hour. Basically, a full scan of Druva’s 2000 device network under $2000 !!  Complete the equivalent of 3–4 weeks of manual recon before an analyst finishes their first cup of coffee. An attacker doesn't need “superintelligence” to breach an organization. They just need an autonomous swarm of 500 tireless, junior-level agents relentlessly probing every crack in the perimeter until one gives. The asymmetry is already here—it’s an infrastructure problem, not a model benchmark problem. And the even bigger problem is that it’s not clear how AI can be used effectively for defense. Offense is all about probability and parallelism, and defense is precision and latency.

71% of employees are using AI tools their employer never approved. That's from the UK's National Cyber Security Centre, and it probably matches what you're seeing. Every one of those tools is a place company data can go without anyone knowing. The NCSC's advice is refreshingly practical: find out why people reach for these tools, then give them a safe option that does the job. Our new guide covers the five AI threats worth planning for, plus seven steps to see, govern and recover the AI side of your business. Cyber recovery cannot rely on guesswork. To recover with confidence, IT and SecOps teams need to turn backup telemetry into actionable threat intelligence. Our "Detection in Depth" framework synthesizes user activity, data anomalies, known IOCs, and behavioral signals to pinpoint verified, pre-infectious restore points. Identity-based attacks jumped 32% this year, with attackers shifting tactics from software exploits to credential stuffing and lateral movement straight to the Domain Controller. The result? The average duration of enterprise downtime after an AD ransomware hit stretches to 24 days—costing an average of $540,000 per hour. In this 2-minute product walkthrough, see how Druva simplifies Active Directory recovery: https://ow.ly/CBWu50ZSNjN
